Solar-powered security cameras use a solar panel to harness the sun’s energy to charge a rechargeable battery that is the power source. The solar panel converts sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. Then, an inverter turns that direct current electricity into an alternate current (AC) so it can be used to power the camera.
Solar-powered cameras work exactly like any other system. They just have a couple of extra pieces of hardware to mount: a solar panel and battery enclosure. After mounting, the components are connected using snap-together connectors. These are keyed, so there’s no confusion, and no way to connect them incorrectly.
